Sunday night, Michael Jackson: THE IMMORTAL World Tour premiered in Montreal. After another Canadian stop, the tour will be on its way to over 60 American cities.

The show was produced by the Jackson family estate and Cirque du Soleil. The show seeks to combine Michael Jackson’s love of music, dance, nature, magic, and fairy tails using the storytelling techniques of the cirque shows. The 100-minute long performance features music mashups and top hits like Black or White and Thriller along with 30 other songs and voice outtakes.

The show includes 252 costumes, a modernized glove with breathtaking special effects, a moonwalk done cirque-style and sky-high choreography. From the sounds of it, the show is probably better than the Michael Jackson show I saw in Mexico. I’m hoping it’s even better than Cirque du Soleil La Nouba, which I loved. If you love the show, which it’s hard to believe you wouldn’t, be sure to demand an encore. This is the one show where you might get one.
