Disney Deals

It’s time once again for Disney World’s Free Dining offer. Free Dining? What’s the catch? No catch, you just have to agree to stay in one of Disney’s rooms and enjoy their theme parks. From Disney:

Get a free dining plan when you buy a new non-discounted Walt Disney Travel Co. room and ticket package for four nights/five days at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels for arrivals on select dates from October 2011 to March 2012. This package includes room, theme park tickets and a complimentary dining plan.Click here for offer details.

If you stay at a moderate or deluxe resort, you’ll qualify for the free Disney Dining Plan option and if you stay at a value resort, you’ll qualify for the free Quick Service Dining Plan.

So is this deal a bargain? For 2 people I managed to find deals including airfare for under $1800 at a moderate resort. If I didn’t have this deal I’d be paying over $300 more for the same package. Imagine how that adds up when you have a family or 4 or more.

To make your own trip as cheap as you can, travel during the low “season” with Disney. Yourfirstvisit.net has charts showing Disney’s calendar and how the prices change.

Traveling in off-peak seasons means your room rate will be lower and you can spend more money on souvenirs! Or you know, future trips, household expenses, whatever you need. Traveling in January can also mean shorter lines and a quieter experience. If you’re traveling in 2011, Epcot has their Food & Wine Festival September 30-November 13 and in early December you can see their Holidays Around the World.

For restaurant choices, make sure to visit our recaps on Disney’s quick service and table service restaurants and how to choose the right meal plan for your family. What restaurant would you eat at during Disney’s free dining celebration?
