Wizarding Week: More Potter

Friday is the big day. It’s the premiere of the final Harry Potter movie. In case you’ve missed it, I’m a huge Harry Potter fan. In honor of the final movie we’ll be celebrating one last Wizarding Week here on TravelHyper.

While you might have heard the exciting news about Pottermore, there’s another sign the love of Harry Potter isn’t ending. In Leavesden, England, there’s a bunch of work being done to bring the next exciting Harry Potter exhibit to the muggle world.

Harry Potter Studio Tour

Warner Brothers Studios Leavesden was the production location for all 8 Harry Potter movies. While a fire destroyed part of the set during filming in 2010, Warner Brothers is rebuilding a large portion of the set for a brand new tour called The Making of Harry Potter. The tour is on schedule to open in Spring 2012.

Inside the museum you can expect to find many of the costumes and props that are currently featured in Harry Potter: The Exhibition. You can also expect to see a copy of the Great Hall and Dumbledore’s office. Right now the plans include a 3-hour tour of the studios, though more sets and movies may be included in the tour at a later time. Be on the lookout for announcements as The Dark Knight and the Sherlock Holmes movies are added to the set.

Tickets will go on sale later in 2011 and will have to be purchased in advance of a tour. Sign up on the website to receive updates.
