Wizarding Week: Harry Potter Tourists

I’ve shown you trip itineraries for Harry Potter but how about some pictures of real people doing real Harry Potter travels? I put out a call to my friends and they cam through with some great trip photos.

My friend Nancy recently took a trip around Great Britain and Ireland. She’s given me permission to share her photos of her journey to the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland. She took her trip with her sister and friend as you can see here.

The Cliffs of Moher were used in the filming of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, in scenes where Harry and Dumbledore were searching for the horcrux in the cave.

Another friend, Chelsea, spent some time abroad. Chelsea is a huge Harry Potter fan and she made sure to visit some popular Harry Potter filming locations.

Chelsea went to the ZSL London Zoo where Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was filmed. Not only did she find the Reptile House, she found a nice Harry Potter plaque mentioning the filming.

She also got around to King’s Cross Station and Platform 9 3/4.

During a trip to the Scottish Highlands, Chelsea stopped in Edinburgh at The Elephant House. The Elephant House was where JK Rowling spent time writing many of the Harry Potter books.

Chelsea seemed the most excited about her visits to Christ Church on the Oxford University campus, or “Hogwarts” as she referred to it. She took plenty of pictures, more of which can be seen on my flickr page.

Thanks again to Nancy and Chelsea! If you have any Harry Potter photos, link them up in the comments if you want to share.
