Strawberry Festivals

It’s strawberry season and the start of festival season. Here’s a schedule of all the upcoming festivals and where to find them.

My first strawberries of this season...

May 7 Chadbourn, North Carolina: The North Carolina Strawberry Festival features a parade, a pageant, bands, hot air balloons,  food contests and of course strawberries.

May 13-14 Cullman, Alabama: Cullman StrawberryFest at Festhalle Market Platz will feature farmers markets, an arts and crafts fair, 5K run, pet parade, music and dancing.

May 20-22 Pasadena, Texas: The Pasadena Strawberry Festival brings their A-game making the largest strawberry shortcake in all of Texas. They’ll pair the cake up with lots of music and entertainment for all.

May 21-22 Oxnard, California: The California Strawberry Festival includes celebrity chefs, cooking contests, gardening tips, Strawberry Shortcake, and music.

Pungo Strawberry Festival

May 28-29 Virginia Beach, Virginia: The Pungo Strawberry Festival has all the strawberries you can eat prepared in 50 different ways.

June 3-5 Troy, Ohio: The Troy Strawberry Festival includes 150,000 spectators enjoying a pageant, a race, golf, soccer, a singing competition, concerts, races, tournaments, pie eating contests, and fun for the whole family.

June 11-12 Pine, Arizona: The PSBC Annual Strawberry Festival has strawberry treats, crafts, music and is held with the Strawberry Patcher’s Quilt Show.

June 16-19 Burlington, Washington: Berry Dairy Days is a classic way to spend a day. There’s shortcake, fireworks, barbecue, a parade, car show, a race, and even competitive eating.

June 17-18 Owego, New York: The Owego Strawberry Festival is more like a Block Party. Shops and restaurants switch to a strawberry theme for Friday night, bands play, a pig is roasted, dogs go on parade, and the night ends with fireworks. On Saturday it starts again with a parade and a wine tasting is thrown in.

June 17-19 Glenwood Springs, Colorado: Strawberry Days has a carnival, a Miss Strawberry Days contest, and a parade.

June 17-19 Belleville, Michigan: The Belleville National Strawberry Festival features a strawberry bakery with jams and cakes, a parade, Strawberry Idol on stage, bingo, rides, crafts, and a car show.

June 24-26 Long Grove, Illinois: Strawberry Fest brings in 50,000 people to this Chicago suburb. You can enjoy strawberry smoothies, donuts, and walk along the town’s sidewalks to visit shops and restaurants.
