Spring Break: Panama City Beach

Panama City Beach, Florida

MTVU Spring Break 2008

Panama City Beach is a favorite because of the cheap activities, clubs that stay open till 4 AM and the average 320 days of sunshine. MTV often makes PCB their home for Spring Break broadcasts and that means more celebrities and more concerts for those on Spring Break trips. Here are some key travel tips:

Spring Break Fun

  • Enjoy time at Club LaVela, the largest club in the US. It’s Ladies Night every Friday night.
  • It’s looking  like MTV will make another appearance at the beach this year so head to their stage area for a great time.
  • Corporations like Victoria’s Secret, Maxim Magazine, Blender, Banana Boat, and XBOX will be at the beach. Expect tons of contests, giveaways and concerts.
  • Hang out near Arnold Road if you’re looking for a great beach, nicer hotels and access to the best restaurants
  • Both Legacy by the Sea and Beachcomber by the Sea offer rooms for those under age 25 if you pay a security deposit

Key places and hotels in PCB

  • Make sure your hotel or condo you are staying at allows you to check-in if you are under 25. You would hate to arrive only to be stuck without a hotel.
  • Travel with friends and stick together
  • Be careful of Girls Gone Wild events. With the internet, everything can come back to haunt you.
  • Don’t drink underage and don’t drink and drive. The area is heavily patrolled.

  • Rates as low as $19/person/night via Cabana Cay
  • Southwest Air recently opened up flights to PBC and now those flights are on sale
  • Southwest is also offering 3-night vacation packages starting at $89/person/night.
  • The Days Inn Panama City Beach has rooms for as low as $59/night.
