2011 Disney Deal Breakdown

Last time we did a Deal Breakdown for Disney, it was for bookings by the end of 2010. Since then, Disney has changed prices and changes up which deals they’re offering. If you were planning on booking a trip before February 13 or March 27, you’ll want to take a look at this post to determine the best way to save some money on your upcoming Disney World Trip.

To test the best rates, I chose 3 separate weeks through the year to compare: March 27-April 3; May 15-May 22; and September 18-September 25. I compared stays at 3 different resorts (The Contemporary, Port Orleans French Quarter and Pop Century) for stays of 7 nights, 7 days in the park with the park hopper option and the Disney Dining plan. I made sure to find out the best rates for trips for a couple, a family of 4, and 4 separate adults. So what were the results?

The Rules

  • If you’re bringing kids with you, choose Deal #3 unless you want to stay in a deluxe resort like the Contemporary. Then choose Deal #1 or Deal #2 depending on which week you want to visit.
  • While deluxe resorts offer the deepest discounts, if you want to spend the least, stay at a value resort- like Pop Century.
  • If you have an open schedule and can’t decide when to visit, Deal #2’s fall option will help you find the lowest prices. As an extension of this rule, take advantage of Deal #3 in the fall if you have kids.
  • Unless you have to travel to Disney before April 16, ignore Deal #1.

The Prices

Wondering what prices you’ll have to pay if you follow these rules?

  • A family of 4 taking advantage of Deal #3 at a value resort in the fall can expect to spend around $2265
  • A couple taking advantage of Deal #2 at a value resort in the fall can expect to spend around $1809
  • A group of 4 adults taking advantage of Deal #2 at a value resort in the fall can expect to spend around $3254. That’s around $814 per person.
